On Saturday 12th June 2021, Blue Ocean Club organized “Dive Against Debris™ ~ the 3rd Hit” for 2021, an event aimed to remove marine debris from the ocean and conduct marine debris survey to raise the awareness of marine debris problem, and encourage others to join the movement and take important steps to help protect the ocean that we care about.

The event was conducted at Shelter Island, Hong Kong, and there were 26 participating volunteer divers. The weather condition was fine yet windy, seawater temperature was at 29°C. Volunteer divers were given a brief on the dive site information, safety and environmental awareness prior to the dive.

 Volunteer divers have successfully cleaned up to 30.2 kg of marine debris amongst them mainly consist of ghost nets (discarded fishing nets), tin and aluminium cans, plastic fragments, plastic wrappers for fish baits, and batteries. During ghost nets removal, some dead crab and sea cucumbers were found tangled in the debris. The type and quantity of the debris collected, including the cleanup site information, were documented in the marine debris survey data card and reported to the Project AWARE Foundation.

藍海俱樂部於2021年6月12日籌辦了本年度第三次 “打擊海洋垃圾潛水計劃™”，一項針對海底垃圾的清潔和調查活動；目的讓大眾了解海洋垃圾問題，並鼓勵其他潛水員於平時也身體力行，為海洋保育作出貢獻。

是次活動由26名義工潛水員組成義工隊伍參加，並於香港西貢牛尾州進行水底清潔。由於熱帶風暴影響，當日早上有幾陣驟雨及雷暴，水溫攝氏約29度。相關的工作人員在活動前向各義工隊員簡報了潛點地形與生態，並講解有關的安全守則和環保資訊。

 義工潛水隊於兩次下潛後成功收集了共30.2公斤垃圾。牛尾州主要的垃圾類別為鬼網（棄置魚網）、鋁製/金屬飲料罐、塑膠製品碎片，同時亦發現一些放置魚餌的包裝及電池。收集鬼網期間，發現因纏繞而死亡的生物有蟹、海參及蝦。垃圾的類別和數量，及調查地點已詳細記錄在調查記錄表，並回報到Project AWARE Foundation。
